The Spin! with Esther Armah always Lively, always Informed, always Intelligent, often Passionate, never Ratchet Smart has always been Sexy
“The Spin” will be a weekly one hour show with discussion and debate on the hot topics the country is talking about, but from fresh perspective. The show will be Hosted by award winning journalist Esther Armah, leading a panel of accomplished commentators who are women of color. Guest panelists will include artists, scholars, writers, activists and others involved in shaping the cultural and political landscape of the nation.
The show is topical and political, and while it features women’s voices on the issues, it is not “The View” or “The Talk”. These women are masters in their own fields, carry profile and perspective. The discussions are informed, intelligent, political, and always current.
Host Esther Armah is an award winning radio host and international journalist, political commentator, playwright and author. She has worked in media in New York, London, Ghana, and South Africa and appears on MSNBC, ARISE TV, GRITtv, BET and MNN in addition to hosting WBAI’s WakeUp Call in New York City, a two hour news magazine until August 2013.
The Spin, (created by Esther Armah) was the most popular segment of WakeUp Call. At that time it aired 30 minutes weekly. We are expanding The Spin to a one-hour weekly show, to give audiences more or what they enjoyed — and to provide stations with a fresh take on talk radio that in more inclusive and updated.
The show is an inclusive rainbow of black and brown voices. Esther, born and raised in the U.K. is of Ghanaian descent. Regular guests on The Spin are black and brown women including African-American, Ghanaian, Jamaican, Latino, and Indian natives.
