Part-Time Position Available

KCEP (Power 88) FM is seeking an experienced leader to serve as an Account Representative for public urban radio. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining corporate and business support for KCEP-FM. The position involves identifying potential business contributors then preparing customized proposals and presentations based on market and demographic research.

The duties of the Account Representative include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Researches and develops underwriting leads and prospective revenue sources.

• Prepare letters of intent and initial contract correspondence for leads

• Keep records including filing of weekly reports, underwriting contracts, client presentations, donor leads and follow ups as required

• Ensures that all underwriting contracts are reviewed by the Senior Account Representative

• Responsible for maintaining a consistent client base

• Maintains knowledge of/and adheres to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules and regulations, as well as KCEP and EOB policies and procedures regarding underwriting and special event announcements

• Adheres to all EOB Fiscal Services accounting policies and procedures

• Suggest appropriate donation/underwriting announcement schedules

• Obtain sponsorships for station events and special programming

• Performs related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 High school diploma or GED equivalent

 Experience closely related to the duties and responsibilities of the position.

 Must have a car and current car insurance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 Bachelor Degree in Business, Advertising, Marketing, Communication or related field

 2-5 years’ experience in media sales, business to business sales and promotions

 Contacts sources within small, medium and large businesses as well as advertising agencies

 Computer knowledge

 Demonstrated ability to analyze and apply market research data and strong communications skills

 Knowledge of FCC underwriting and noncommercial station regulations a plus

KCEP-FM 40th Gala Fundraiser

As you may know KCEP-FM, POWER 88.1, celebrated this past Sunday at Sam’s Town Live and the 40th Anniversary Gala Fundraiser was a fantastic success!

KCEP Power 88 was proud to announce Legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame artist Gladys Knight and original Pip, Merald “Bubba Knight Jr.,” that performed at the Gala. Both will join Hosted George Wallace, and special guests Gospel innovator Bobby Jones and recording artist Willie Clayton. Bubba Knight paid a special tribute to legendary on air personality and “Father of Black Radio” Jack the Rapper.

Over the past four decades Power 88 has played a vital role in many lives from providing information on health awareness, education, politics, legal matters, housing, finances, spirituality and entertainment, to being a platform, outlet and a development base for career minded individuals in those fields.

On behalf of the Staff and Management of public radio station KCEP-FM POWER 88.1, we are proud to announce KCEP’s upcoming milestone event: “Melodies Through the Decades” 40th Anniversary Gala Fundraiser to celebrate 40 years of service to you and the community.  The Gala celebration will take place on Sunday October 7, 2012 at 6pm at Sam’s Town Live.

KCEP first hit the airwaves of Las Vegas on October 7, 1972 with 10 watts of power.  Forty years later in 2012, we have 10,000 watts of power and we’re now broadcasting in Digital HD to listeners not only in Las Vegas, but throughout the United States and around the world by way of streaming and social media (facebook, twitter, texting and apps)!  Because of social media, we have grown and acquired new listeners and supporters in major cities that choose to listen to KCEP!
